Genres

I write from many genres of music. Being diverse is one thing that I am proud of. I feel that it helps the chances of my songs being chosen by artists from different music styles.

Parodies

It all started from this branch of music. I rewrote a few Christmas songs back in high school for Biology and Chemistry. It was not until college when I made a Liberty University parody of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" that I knew I had a talent for parodies.

After that I wrote dozens on parodies or rewriting songs with my own lyrics. However, as time went by I felt that I knew I had to write my "own" songs instead of merely rewriting other people's work.

Rap/Freestyle

This was one of the first genres that I ever worked with. Free styling to me is like breathing it is like creative improvisation. I love being able to think up lines off of the top of my head.

I love having rap battles from time to time with friends. If anything I love writing raps over performing them due to having more time to think out what I really want to say.

R&B/Love Ballads â€‹

This is my favorite genre to write songs from. Most of my songs regardless of the genre has to do with love and relationships. There is nothing better than learning from those experiences to write great material.

Pop

An upbeat genre that I enjoy working with because it I wanted to write songs that make you want to get up and move. Being able to write these type of lyrics makes this one of my favorite genres to work with.

Country

Now this is one genre that I never thought I would tackle. In a bizarre incident one morning one of my songs actually turned out to be a country song. After writing more county music, I became more comfortable writing it and I'm glad that I started.

Gospel/Worship

I grew up listening to this type of music and I've enjoyed it a lot. It has to be a genre with the most uplifting music that I have ever heard. However, it has proven to be the most difficult genre to write about.

I had to learn that it was more about just me writing about my relationship or life problems. These songs were about my connection with God and how that connection could relate to others. So, I would say these songs were the most rewarding ones to write.
